The Big 5

The Big 5 is an expression that is used to describe 5 animals that if you are lucky you may see in Safari. Our guide said the term comes from the days of Hunters. Thankfully there were no hunters where we were.

The Big 5 are:

• LION
• ELEPHANT
• WATER BUFFALO
• LEOPARD
• RHINOCEROS

No picture of me at a Water Buffalo but let me tell you something. My guide said he would prefer to walk round a corner and face a lion or a leopard than one of these things. They are like cows with really really bad attitude.
